Maximizing the potential of the ADD/ADHD child

When a parent needs to maximize the potential of the ADD/ADHD child, he/she needs the most striking approach which is a multifaceted treatment approach which may include:
_Behavioral modification and management at home and school
_Counseling. Family counseling is advised because with an ADHD child in the house, the wholoe family is affected.
_Individual counseling to learn coping ways, problem solving techniques, and how to deal with stress and self-esteem
_Perceived therapy to give the child the skills to regulate his/her own behavior and "stop-and-think_ startegies.
_Social skills practicing
_Many school interventions
_Providing for physical out let
_Medical intervention (drug therapy)
_Parent education, to support parent learns as they can about ADHD so they can help their child (Sandra F. Rief 15).
