It is still unknown what the causes of ADHD are. The scientific and medical communities are getting more and more knowledge about how the brain works and what affects attention and learning. Like many disorders, it is not frequently possible to find a cause. At this time, ADD/ADHD relates to heredity or other biological factors.
The following are possible causes of ADD/ADHD:
_Genetic Causes: A child with ADD/ADHD may get this from one of his/her family members who has similar behavior during childhood.
_Biological/Physiological causes: People with ADD seem to have a shortage or neurotransmitters.
_Complications or trauma in pregnancy or birth.
_Lead poisoning.
_Diet: ADHD symptoms linked to diet and food allergies continue to remain debatable in the medical community.
_Prenatal alcohol and drug exposure: Children clinically exposed to drugs are having numerous neurological disorders and acts that we notice in ADD kids (Sandra F. Rief)
